What’s been happening:

Who would have thought my film major would give me the opportunity to work on the David Hasselhoff Pay-Per-View (occurring the eve of the infamous OJ Simpson white van chase) and 2 years with The Miss America Pageant? I certainly didn't, but I am one of those fortunate to use my then-obscure Film/Video degree in the Real World. For 8 years, I freelanced on the east coast for TV commercials and local programming, special events, and feature films. When I obtained a film staff job, I embraced my true passion: writing. The weekly central NJ newspaper challenged me to new heights, flying an airplane and getting legally intoxicated for articles (oh, but not at the same time). Moving to DE with my husband opened up new opportunities for the daily paper. Of course, I had to write one "weekend excursion" article on State College, forcing me to drive to campus for photos and restaurant reviews. My interview with a local sex therapist is to date still the most requested article reprint. I won first place in NFPW's annual contest for my feature on the controversial plans for a riverfront casino in Delaware. Throughout it all, I have remained active in local alumni chapters, encouraged by my husband, also an alum. We now live in the Midwest, but we make at least one trip back for a football game. It's just like going home.
